Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

Own reporting and analysis for core business datasets.

Build and maintain dashboards, recurring reports, and KPI tracking.

Write and optimize SQL for analysis, reporting, and data validation.

Analyze fraud, chargeback, dispute, and merchant trends to identify risks, patterns, and opportunities.

Investigate anomalies, data issues, and performance changes across key metrics.

Partner with engineering, product, operations, and leadership to answer business questions with data.

Work with existing pipelines and datasets to improve trust, consistency, and usability of data.

Use Python for analysis, validation, and lightweight automation where needed.

Support data quality efforts by identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and edge cases in source data.

Create clear visualizations and communicate findings in a practical, business-friendly way.

Work within the current stack (MySQL, AWS, Airflow; ClickHouse is a plus).

Required

Strong MySQL/SQL skills.

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving.

Experience building dashboards and reports.

Ability to translate business questions into clear analysis.

Experience working with production data and validating data quality.

Python proficiency for analysis or automation.

Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.

Comfortable working with existing systems and improving them incrementally.

Nice to have

Observability/visualization (metrics, dashboards, alerting).

Prior Clickhouse experience.
