With a unique background spanning language education, customer support, and international risk management, Mari has built a career protecting merchants on a global scale. She builds customized, regionally intelligent payment operations across the U.S., Brazilian, and European markets.
Leadership in Fraud Prevention:
As COO of Fraud Deflect and Partner at CNPMentors, she delivers innovative solutions to intercept billing confusion and helps businesses successfully exit dispute monitoring programs.
Video Game Industry Veteran:
Managed fraud, billing, and player safety for gaming giants like Riot Games (League of Legends) and Jagex (Runescape). At Riot Games, she successfully stopped a notorious spoofing ring and drove chargeback rates down from over 3% to under 1%.
Advocate for Women in Risk:
A passionate mentor in both English and Portuguese through PayTech Women (PTW) and Risk Women Brasil, helping women overcome barriers and advance into leadership roles within the industry.

Native-level bilingual in English and Portuguese, and fluent in Italian and Spanish. She has lived and worked in Brazil, the US, Italy, and the UK, bringing a crucial cross-cultural asset to international risk management.

Based in North East Florida, Mari is committed to community service (serving as Public Image Chair for the Rotary Club of Ponte Vedra). A mother of three and a lifelong gamer, she also enjoys hardcover books, playing the piano, and latin ballroom dancing.
